life times & love

i feel bad for not posting in a while. but school has started & i'm back in jersey, where we are caked with snow. but one of the reasons i wanted to post was because i was asked a question yesterday by my poetry teacher, "what is poetry?" i immediately thought of dead poet's society. i love that movie, and that movie made me love poetry even more because of the passion of john keating and all the other boys in that class. and i love this quote from the movie: "we don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race." beautiful line, poems just hold so much in the simplicity or complexity of just expressing an emotion whichever way makes sense to you, or however your spirit wants to at the time. a poem is a moment.
